Order Desk/Customer Service

Full Time Employment Montreal
Function Summary

The job includes, but not limited to:
- Effectively handling inbound and outbound customer calls related to existing or new product orders, order discreptencies or product information, etc.
- Responsible for entering all orders received via email or fax.
- Set up new accounts and update existing accounts in the system.
- Promote new products and/or products on sale (inside sales)
- Works closely with the warehouse colleagues to identify in stock/out of stock issues, transportation pickups and arrival of incoming products.
- Inform Manager/VP of back orders and/or anticipated orders from customers
- Organize transportation paperwork and customs documentation
- Responsible to contact all customers regarding any out of stocks/substitution possibilities/delivery & availability dates/shipment organization.
- Needs to make sure sales orders are entered correctly and that codes match the right product
- Invoice all outgoing products for both retail and contractors (handle cash or swipe credit or debit cards when necessary)
- Some receivables/collections calls (for overdue accounts)
- able to multitask and prioritize
- excellent customer service skills
- Various administrative duties

Experience and Training

Key Competencies
• Minimum High School Diploma required
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
• Strong computer skills (MS Office); Surfagest (asset)
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Strong customer service orientation. Strives to exceed customer expectations.
• Deals effectively and professionally with issues that arise i.e. out of stock issues, etc.
• Ability to work well in a team environment & demonstrate respect for coworkers.
• Ability to describe product to customers.
• Strong MS Office Computer Skills
• Ability to think one step ahead
• Ability to multitask and work in fast-pace environment
• Good math skills (weight conversions, pricing, etc)
• Good communication skills (French/English)
• Sound problem solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle detailed documentation and paperwork
• Great data entry skills
• Experience in selling ceramic tiles (asset)
